8. What’s the difference between OEM,
Remanufactured and Compatible?
OEM is an original equipment manufacturer.
The manufacturers produce the replacement toner and
ink for copiers or printers and normally will put the
manufacturer’s name on that product, such as an
Hewlett Packard (HP); Canon, IBM; Xerox; Lexmark, Brother,
etc.
Remanufactured cartridges are recycled
and generally exceed OEM quality. The process involves
an extremely tedious inspection, cleaning, replacement
of parts, filling the cartridge with appropriate toner
or ink and then packaged for sale.
Compatible cartridges are manufactured
to meet/exceed the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
There are certain specific standards of quality and
reliability that are met in order to give high-quality
printing results. These cartridges are manufactured
100% new, and are a wonderfully economical solution
to the expensive brand name cartridges.
